Philip’s career spans litigation, corporate law, human capital management, and financial services, establishing him as a seasoned legal and HR professional well-versed in Nigeria’s dynamic business environment.
He began his legal practice at the esteemed firms Oluyede & Oluyede and G.U. Esene & Co., before becoming the pioneer Company Secretary and Legal Adviser at Aquila Capital Limited. In this role, he oversaw the Legal and Human Capital Departments and contributed to several landmark investment banking transactions. These included a hybrid equity and convertible bond offer subscribed to by AfricInvest (a Tunisian private equity firm) and senior loans from FMO (Netherlands) and BIO (Belgium) to fund SME financing. At Aquila, Philip gained substantial experience in acquisitions and management buyouts.
In 2013, he transitioned to Imperial, bringing with him a wealth of expertise. Philip earned his law degrees from the University of Benin and the University of Lagos.
